- Tim opens the show talking about his ministry on the Vegas Strip handing out Christian tracts, and the importance of witnessing, emphasizing the point that these people that do not know the Lord Jesus are going to hell.
Some of the people from Stepping into the Light Ministries are today's guests in a followup session from last week. The first guest is Keith, one of the staff members at the ministry. He says that they are celebrating a first year of sobriety today for two of the residents, with a dinner and graduation. Keith gives his own testimony, saying that he had been on the streets for 13 years, and got lost in the world of crack cocaine. He says he is now studying to be a minister, and that the program at Stepping into the Light is hard but good. It is a non-denominational faith-based facility that preaches and teaches the Word of God, and welcomes those with drug problems.
Keith says some of the men don't make it, and some leave the facility and then later return. He says the doors stay open for those that want to come back, and that some men have been there several times getting help. Tim asks what the difference is between those that keep coming back, and those that get it right the first time. Keith responds that very few men get it right the first time. He says the men have a variety of problems related to drugs and alcohol, and that the key is a spiritual awakening that can then be applied in the natural.
Fred is the next guest. Fred says he was looking for a program for drug and alcohol deliverance when he found this program. He said he also liked the name of the program "Stepping into the Light", which meant something to him in reaching out to God. He heard about the program through Larry Rice, who has a TV program in St. Louis. Tim asks Fred what would lead him to turn to religion when you were getting a high from drugs. Fred responds that he wanted a meaning to what he did.
A third guest is Randy. Randy says he is blessed to be in the home, and that he came there a broken man. He has been there now for a year, and mentions that he had been through the veterans programs multiple times. He says that the previous programs did not "hit the heart". He says that the Stepping into the Light program does speak to the heart. Randy has been off of drugs now for two years.
Tim asks for you to send your donations to Stepping into the Light Ministry, with a mailing address of "1402 Hebert St., St. Louis MO 63107", phone: 314-231-5175. (Ed: MB)
