- Tim opens with a story about putting tracts into magazines at the grocery store. He also talks about Tim Tebow, the famous Christian football quarterback of the Denver Broncos, and offers a few words of thanks for Thanksgiving. He mentions that Tim Tebow even puts scripture verses in the eye-black under his eyes.
David Daniels from Chick Publications is today's guest. Tim says that Jack Chick of Chick Publications is the third most published author, only outranked by Shakespeare and Agatha Christie. David mentions that Shakespeare and Christie were given that honor posthumously, while Jack Chick is still alive and publishing. However, he points out that each individual tract is considered a publication.
Tim talks about people's ears being tickled as described in the Bible, and mentions it would be interesting to ask Joel Osteen what he considers tickled ears. Tim asks David about Catholicism. David starts by talking about hell and saying that it is real, and that criticism about "hate literature" is unfounded since he is trying to keep people from going to hell. It would be hate to let them go to hell without saying anything.
Tim asks Daniels about the tract "The Awful Truth". The tract is "upfront", and Tim says nobody has "bit his head off" for handing out the tract. David says the tract points out that there is a devil, and he wants to destroy your life, and that the devil does not want you to be saved. The devil came up with a counterfeit faith and a fake Jesus. David goes on to talk about "the goddess called Mary" and the differences between the Gospel of the Bible and the gospel of Rome. Tim points out that there are other "Jesuses" out there, and mentions that there will be many that come in the name of Jesus, and talks about some of the sins of the popes.
Tim says he has been handing out Chick tracts for 41 years, and overcame his fears about handing out Chick tracts dealing with Catholics. Tim then talks about the new comic book called "The Jesuits" published by Chick. He says the comic book was developed over two years, and gives a good background on the Alberto series of tracts and provides other information on the Jesuits and their origin. David says that 98% of Jesuits do not wear the priestly clothes, making them difficult to recognize.
Chick Publications has published over 800 million tracts, and David says there are usually 75 active titles, with a huge number of tracts that are no longer active. The Chick publication website is located at www.Chick.com. (Ed: MB)
