Tim is back from his latest ministry trip to Israel. Mike Cahill will report in next week's show on the trip. While there he handed out the tract "Allah had no son" among others.
William Koenig is today's guest. He is the author of the books "Israel, the Blessing or a Curse" and "Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel". Bill and Tim start the discussion by mentioning a number of natural and man-made disasters and other events that have occurred after the USA failed in its support of Israel. Bill mentions that a large number of these disasters have occurred within 24 hours after the US has put pressure on Israel to divide their covenant land.
Tim says that before the election the "so-called Palestinians" were supportive of Obama, and that Mr. Obama's popularity in Israel has been increasing. Bill says that President Bush today has a popularity rating above 80%, while Obama has approval in the single digit range (less than 10%). Bill says that the Bush admin never dealt directly with Arafat. Tim says that practically every Muslim he has met in Israel believes that President Obama is a Muslim. Bill responds that from what he has seen, he would be reluctant to say that, although he says that there are some that do believe he is a Muslim.
Tim brings up the subject of Obama attacking the Bible, and his use of the phrase "Holy Quran" in talking about the Quran. Bill says that Mr. Obama talks about Thomas Jefferson as if he honored the Quran, and that the Quran was in his library. He goes on to say that Jefferson was actually trying to understand the Barbary Pirates that followed the Quran.
Tim asks Bill to describe the Biblical boundaries of Israel, and says that the world is focused on Israel giving up Judea, Sumeria, and part of East Jerusalem. Bill responds that the peace process is focused on asking Israel to give up the heart of Israel, and compares it to giving up the heart of the USA for peace, like giving up Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. Tim and Bill then talk about the book of Zechariah in the Bible, where it says that the world will come against Israel, and compares it to modern opposition to Israel. He then talks about Genesis 12:3, that says God will bless those who bless Israel.
Tim then brings up Ron Paul, who is rising in the polls. Paul is in favor of cutting off all aid to Israel. Bill says we have a Biblical duty to back Israel, and that our support of Israel also gives us an important foothold in the area, benefiting both Israel and the USA. Tim says that there is a large portion of the Israeli population that are atheists. Bill responds that there are a number of Jews that have problems in understanding a God that would allow the holocaust.
Tim then brings up that there are many Christians that believe that the Church is now Israel (replacement theology). Bill says that many believe that the Jews have no right to Israel, and that the Church does not replace Israel. He says that there are also many that understand God's plan for Israel, and that the Church does not replace Israel. Bill has an excellent website at www.Watch.org that focuses on news about Israel.
